Description:

Large evergreen shrub, characteristic of the Mediterranean scrub, commonly known as “Strawberry tree”. It is used for ornamental purposes due to the beautiful bright green foliage, which takes on reddish shades in the autumn. The flowers, hermaphrodite, are present from October to March in the terminal part of the branches and are gathered in small pendulous racemes of cream or pinkish white color. Well-known fruits, called corbezzola, round, fleshy berries, which when ripe, when they become dark red in color, have a sweetish taste and are suitable for the preparation of jams. The flowering of the tree occurs in conjunction with the complete ripening of the fruits, in the period of October and November.

Ground:

It grows in well-drained soils, even poor, but not limestone.

Light: 

It prefers exposure to full sun, but it also adapts to partial shade

Water:

 Do not exceed with watering

Climate:

Withstands cold winter temperatures and hot summers
